Learning how to clean ovens correctly will allow you to keep your appliance in good working condition and avoid potential health risks associated with using certain chemicals or strong cleaning agents such as bleach. Through this article, WonderKlean Malaysia will introduce 2 alternative methods of oven cleaning without using chemicals!

Cleaning with Baking Soda

Before cleaning, make sure your oven is completely empty. You’ll also need the following cleaning supplies:

  • – Baking soda water
  • – Rubber gloves
  • – White vinegar
  • – Spray bottle
  • – A cloth or sponge that can cover a large surface area

Baking soda and water will clean any kind of mess while vinegar can remove stains from porcelain or metal surfaces without damaging them.

  1. First, remove any racks and trays from inside the oven.
  2. Mix half a cup of baking soda and water into separate bowls then spread across the entire surface using a sponge type brush until the paste is coated all over evenly.
  3. Apply the paste evenly on greasy spots inside of your range hood or stovetop using a sponge or spray bottle and let it sit for 12 hours.
  4. In the meantime, you can turn your attention to the oven racks. The best way to clean oven racks is to soak them in hot water for two hours, before scrubbing them with soap and rinsing with water.
  5. Once 12 hours are up, use a damp rag and wipe off any residue in the oven. If this is not working on particularly stubborn areas then try using a spatula to gently loosen up the paste or spray with white vinegar before wiping down all surfaces inside.
  6. Finally, put all the racks back in the oven and you are done!
